Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, Pereira, Colombia
QA Conf 2025
Overview
At QA Conf 2025, I participated as a speaker at one of the most important software quality events in Colombia’s Coffee Region.
The presentation took place at Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira and was attended by approximately 250 software professionals, students and technology enthusiasts.
The session focused on a real-world solution implemented during my professional experience, where Quality Assurance practices were combined with performance analysis techniques to identify bottlenecks, validate optimizations and improve the overall user experience of a production application.
Context
Software quality is often treated separately from performance engineering.
However, modern systems require both disciplines to work together to ensure reliability, scalability and a positive user experience.
This talk explored how performance metrics can become part of the quality validation process, helping engineering teams identify issues before they impact end users.
Topics Covered
During the session I discussed:
- The relationship between quality and performance.
- Early bottleneck detection.
- Observability strategies.
- Key performance metrics.
- Validation of performance improvements.
- Data-driven engineering decisions.
The presentation focused on practical lessons learned from real software projects.
Technical Highlights
Key concepts included:
- Performance Testing.
- Quality Assurance.
- Application Monitoring.
- Observability.
- Performance Metrics.
- Production Analysis.
- Application Optimization.
- Data-Driven Engineering.
Community Impact
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was the interaction with professionals from different areas of software engineering.
The session generated discussions around integrating performance metrics into QA workflows and building more reliable systems through measurable engineering practices.
